How CoinPulse AU works

Transparency matters. Here's exactly where our numbers come from, how often they refresh, and what the AI commentary on each coin page can — and can't — tell you.

01

Price data

All prices, market caps and volumes are sourced from the CoinGecko public API. CoinGecko aggregates spot prices from hundreds of exchanges and reports a volume-weighted average. Prices are denominated in Australian dollars where shown as AUD, and US dollars where shown as USD.

02

Refresh frequency

Prices and percentage changes are refreshed once per day, typically around 06:00 AEST. The "Last updated" timestamp on each coin page reflects the most recent successful refresh.

03

Percentage changes

24-hour, 7-day and 30-day percentage changes are reported by CoinGecko relative to the price at the matching point in the past in AUD terms.

04

Market commentary

The daily commentary on each coin page is generated automatically using a large language model. It analyses the day's price action, recent trends and general factors that traders typically consider for that asset. It does not include real-time news. It is not written or reviewed by a human and should not be relied upon as financial advice.

05

Coin selection

We track the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. The list is curated and updated periodically.
